Dr. Dennis Harrigan

"I graduated from UC Davis Veterinary School in 1984 and moved to Gilroy with my wife, Renee, in 1987.  I have two kids: Brian and Kyle, three dogs, and a cat. I'm still trying to figure out which I like better, the animals or the kids.

I've had the pleasure of being involved in many community activities, such as the local soccer club, being chef at the Garlic Festival, and I very much enjoy teaching anatomy and art to elementary school children.

My interests in veterinary medicine are varied and include dentistry, reptiles, endocrine problems, and surgery. My greatest joy in practice is being able to interact with the pets and their owners.   My hobbies are cooking, fly fishing, and playing soccer and volleyball".

I began my love affair with the animal world at a very early age.  I was the kid that had jars of bugs, frogs, turtles, and unfortunately for my mom, a garter snake that had babies under our refrigerator.  We had a family dog, cat, loft full of pigeons and a duck named John.

My whole life has been centered around animals and keeping them healthy.

In the last few years I have found that diet and nutritional ingredients can make a big difference in an animals health

Kim

Instead of a bio, Kim would like to offer these words of wisdom regarding the "Rules for Having a Dog":

(Warning: do not deviate from these rules!)

The dog is not allowed in the house...Okay, the dog is allowed in the house, but only in certain rooms...Fine, the dog is allowed in all rooms, but has to stay off the furniture...

Okay, the dog can get on the old furniture only...Fine, the dog is allowed on all the furniture, but is not allowed to sleep with the humans in bed...

Okay, the dog is allowed on the bed, but only by invitation...

Fine, the dog can sleep on the bed whenever he wants, but not under the covers...Okay, the dog can sleep under the covers by invitation only...Fine, the dog can sleep under the covers every night and the humans must ask permission to sleep under the covers with the dog... -Author Unknown-

Michelle

My name is Michelle and I've been working as an RVT at Gilroy Veterinary since 2003.  I have always loved animals and have been working in the veterinary field since 1997.  I'm not a native of Gilroy but I love it here and have made it my home since 2000.  I have four "pets" of my own: my three wonderful energetic children Lucas, Marianna, and Tomas and one furry four legged child (a Chihuahua mix name Ginger).  I find it very gratifying to help people with their furry friends in need and watch them make a great recovery due to our efforts and care.

Desiree

Desiree

Hi! I'm Desiree and I am a new technician here at Gilroy Veterinary Hospital. I grew up in California then ventured north to Oregon where I started working as a kennel assistant about 10 years ago. After working my way up to an assistant I continued my venture north to Alaska and continued to work my way up to technician. As for now, I am continuing my education at Gavilan College in the hopes of getting into the RN program offered at the college. I utterly enjoy helping pets and their people live healthy happy lives together.
